Winter Respite
Recently returned from trip to Arizona. My daughter and I have made trips to Sedona, Napa Valley, Seattle, Jackson Hole, and now Tanque Verde Guest Ranch in AZ. These trips provide me relaxation, fun, and time to just be with my daughter. This trip was particularly enjoyable because we were always busy and I had almost nothing to be worried about. All meals and activities were included in the price of our stay and all we had to do was show up for horseback riding adventures and for our meals. The ranch meals were certainly not typical ranch fare---and neither was the ranch riding (it was typical "DUDE" riding. Oh well, we had fun on the breakfast ride, adventure ride, mountain ride, All-day ride, intermediate ride, and Funkana.
Whenever I return from these trips, I initially feel a little down. I s'pose it's just hard for me to say goodbye to my daughter. I think about when I will see her next, did she have an enjoyable time, and how many of these adventures will we continue to have.
Then, . . . I snap out of it and count my blessings.
This trip gave us much to think about and opportunities for learning and exploring. These trips are so relaxing and stimulating they cause use to discuss what we want to do with our life, places we want visit, and goals we want to accomplish. We talk about ways we can contribute to society/community and family, as well as ways we can contribute to our personal growth.
We haven't created specific goals yet, or implemented tasks directly related to our conversations while we were on our trip; but I can report that we feel re-energized and that are heads are full of ideas. And we're HAPPY to be HAPPY!
